This book was my most recent Audio Book edit project... and I was really interested, from start to finish. I didnt know too too much about the Beasties, my first exposure was Hello Nasty, and I've been a fan ever since... The book is very thorough, including interviews from: Dust Brothers (Mike Simpson & John King) Matt Dike, Adam Yauch, Tim Carr, Adam Horovitz, Micheal Diamond, Mario Caldato, Russell Simmons & Rick Rubin.
dope anecdotes include: MCA making out with Madonna. Dr DRE was their 1st DJ. Mike D's brother played Screech on Saved by the Bell. How the album got its name. Using the live room at the Record Plant in LA, as a game room, complete with ping pong table & projection TV. Various pranks. Details on drama w/Def Jam. Rumors. Religion.
